On Wednesday 11th November Pembroke Town Walls Trust had their first AGM. As a Charitable Incorporated Organisation there were Charities Commission rules to follow dictated by our constitution. The pressure was on to ensure we proceeded in a correct way. We were required to deliver an Annual report, a financial report and accounts along with administering the resignation of the Board of Trustees ‘on block’ followed by the re-election of those willing to stand again. The net result was that two Trustees stood down and a new one joined us. We have space for 2 more trustees if anyone out there is interested.
This procedural part of the meeting was cushioned initially with the presentation of cheques to the Trust from the Lamphey and District WI and the Pembrokeshire Historic Buildings Trust (see photos) and ending with a presentation from Keith Johnson (Editor of Pembrokeshire Life) on the ‘Pubs of Pembrokeshire’.
We were very pleased with the ‘turnout’ and Keith ended the meeting with a good laugh and fascinating facts.
We now look towards a new year for the Trust when, given the acquisition of sufficient funding we will see the completion of the Pilot Project at the Tabernacle URC site and we start on the next phase of wall repair and consolidation.
